The classes I haven't wrote about was "Spiritual Warfare", "Kingdom Of God", and "Evangelism."
On spiritual warfare we learned that everyday is a battle. We are to be responsible for our thoughts, words, actions, reactions, and motive, for this is were the battles start. Satan knows what God says, but he likes to twist things around to make you doubt. We also learned was of the devil, for it's always good to know your enemy. Just like in sports, you study the opposite team to see where their weaknesses are, to use it against them, and then you find their strength to go around it.
We did a study on the angels too, and that the angels seem to have ranking on their position in the spiritual realm just like the ways the military is here. And for the most part from reading a few verses. It seems like when God had some important message, he would send Gabriel. But also angel are here to minister to us (Hebrew 1:14). And we have assigned angel with us (Matt 18:10). Even though angels are here to serve us, we still have a bigger authority over them.
We need to know who we are in Christ. We need to realize that through God we have the authority and with that said we need to know who God is, so we can fight the battle. One of the marks of a warrior is when you have good solid soldiers of God (friends) standing by you no matter what just remember Ephesians 6:10-18 "The armor of God." We need to have truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the word of God, and pray in spirit. ALWAYS BE READY TO FIGHT.
Now in the "Kingdom of God." Our main points where: What is the kingdom of God? Why do we extend the kingdom? And what is the kingdom of God in my life? With the first point, the answer is the kingdom of God is a sovereign kingdom over all. He is the king of kings. Our purpose in the kingdom is to first glorify God. Then to spread it to the universe so that everybody becomes part of God's family. God intension was not to have kings, but in the time of Samuel is were the people ask God for a king. So He was like alright here is your king, but I'm the king of all. But God is a creator more than a king.
Our second point on why we extend the kingdom is for love, for obedience, so we won't be judge; Because Jesus will be coming soon, and for future joy. Now this is not the only reason why, as a class we named so many more that where good but this were the ones we went over. The way God loves us, we should love others that we want to share it to others. Hw is sending us out to the world, for there is still hope for those that are lost just as we need to hear about His love, the unsave need to hear about His love as well.
The 3rd point, the kingdom of God in mu life... "He is mu king and I'm His servant. When He speaks, I will stay quick. When He calls me I will go..." All this can happen when I let Him be my kingdom. The kingdom will depend on mu will each day. 5% depends on my decision and 95% is what I make my will based on that decision. I have to realize that my action can cause others to sin. s]So I have to be careful with the things I do. Are my action pleasing to God? The most important impression in my life is the last impression I leave, but everyday should be mu last impression.
"Evangelism" was a pretty intense week... But I think the teacher was an intense teacher because he spoke with so much authority and conviction to us. First he spoke about some statistics about the church. The church has a goal to win 1 billion souls for Jesus and open 5 million churches in 10 to 15 years. Then he mention 4 greatest movement in the church: 1)was when the disciples went out to evangelize to the world. 2) was in Europe with Martin Lutero, John Wickliffe, and John Calvino. 3) The world evangelism with missionary of Europe and United States. 4) is in the latin world. If we finish our job well, we will leave a foot print in the world, no one will erase.
There are 3 things that identify the church in their testimony of evangelism: faith, authority, and vision. Faith is standing over the property of the Word. Authority is not use to condemn but to have mercy on people. And vision is to define a solid goal, an image of the future.
Couple of things he gave as to evangelism is to 1st: ask the Lord for guidance. 2nd: who am I going to evangelize to. 3rd: With whim am I going to do the works. 4th: How do we do the work. 5th your got the resources. 6th: When do we do the work. And 7th you get results. Also make sure you pray. Pray to keep the team together, prayer will speak to the hard hearts, is the grantee of the work, it will make us sensitive to the people's needs, and it will also take away the evil influence.
Also one important thing I will mention is when you speak to people, you have to be careful the way you say things. Don't condemn the person because of their sin. Don't argue with the people. Don't obligate them to believe. Don't judge the person and also just remember the gospel is not a change of religion but a change of life.
So this is just a brief summary of those classes and my next post will be about the conference.
