Panama

Well Im back from Panama and it was great..
So let me begin from the beginning.. We left Costa Rica Dec. 8 and it was a long 18 hours bus ride to Panama. When we got to the boarder we were already encountering problems.. They were telling us that the americans were not allow to enter the country if we didnt have 500 each in cash to show.. So already we knew that was a small attack from the devil because it was dumn what they were telling us.. So we got together in the side and just started praying.. Once we got to the window.. They did not ask one single thing about the money.. They were like "Ok thank you very much and welcome to Panama." So we were like the people in the line were just lying to us.
So we got to the base and just rested for Tuesaday and they told us what we were going to do for the rest of the time there..
Wednesday morning we were around the base in some near by city to just get the neighbors together (mainly the kids) and just to play with them and show them some dramas and sing songs with them and just show them love.. So that was just so much fun with them.. Then in the afternoon we went to the city of Panama and went to some parks and did some more dramas and sing songs. And with that we were actually able to witness to some people. So that was something awesome to hearing people being touch by that.
Then in the evening we were suppose with one of our friends to her university because we were going to do a presentation for her class. But as some of you heard, when we went to have dinner at an Italian pizza place and my purse was stolen there. So that was just an upsetting moment for me. But the owners of the place were so nice, they call the police for us and they were just so hurt to know that they did that in there restuarant. So me and Cynthia went to the police station to make a complaint and the rest of the team went to the university. The polices there were so helpful. I think they did some much more there than what they probably would of done in the states.
Thursday morning I got news from the police that they had found some of my stuff, which was some of the important stuff (like my visa and bus ticket back home to Costa Rica). Praise God for that. And for ministry it wasnt much but we just cleaned up the house were staying at because you can tell that it hadn´t been clean in very long time.
Friday we went to Panama city again but this time we went to the Casco Antiquo of Panama. We had notice the beach there were just cover with so much trash. So as our morning ministry went to pick up trash. Not your normal thing to do but it felt good to do it. Well we picked up about 20 big bags just full of trash and about 10 tires that was laying around also. There couple of police that was there that was wondering what we were doing. I wasnt there with the police but our leaders told us that they were able to talk to them about what our purpose was there and they were just really touch by that.
Then we started praying ask the Lord what He wanted us to do next. And for some weird reason He wanted us to buy cinnamon rolls and give it to the police who help with the purse situation and for the once who was at the beach with us and pray for them right on the spot. And also for the people at the restuarant. So we did. And everybody we gave cinnamon rolls to was touch.
Saturday we were privilege to go to one of the tribes in Panama called Embera. And this was one of the best experience I had while in Panama. We were there for 4 days. We were the first group of missionaries to ever go to this tribe. One of the students in the Panama base belong to this tribe and he was telling that him and his wife are the only once to know God, so he wanted us to go to his home and witness to the rest of his family.
In order to get there we have to take a 2 to 3 mile boat ride on the river. Which was gourgoues. Once we arrived there the village was just so beautiful. When we first got there they welcome us with their dances.
Well the nexts couple of days in the mornings we helped them make a pathway from the river to their village. Which was very hard work. A job that would of taken 15 to 20 days, we did it in 2 days. And with that they were so please. They wonder why we would do something like that and not ask for pay.
Then in the afternoons, the cheif told us we worked so hard to just have it free. During the free time we would go swimming in the river and fellowship with one another and also with the people of the tribe.
In the evening it was time for our devotional and worship and the wonderful thing was the people from the tribe would come and join us.
I know for a fact they were touch by God and that they want to know who God is. They were telling us when we were leaving, that they want to redeem their dance to glorify God. And that when people come to visit, they want to them to feel God in the mist of their village. So it was so encouraging to hear that from them.
So then After the tribe we had a free day and then the next day we got another 18 hour bus ride home and that was the end of Panama.
So now we just here for a couple of days and will be leaving to Nicaragua next.

Here are some pictures i have for now, I will post more in the next blog sometime tonight or tomorrow.
